Not sure of what to do
by Girlie ini have a very close jw friend who i have known for a number of years.
she was like the big sister i never had, always looking out for me and was very helpful during my challenging moments.
we both came into the religion around the same time and both of us were pretty much fringe dubs, just making the bare minimum to be considered jw in good standing.

If you keep the pattern of responding to and engaging in a conversation with everything non-borg related, and ignore everything borg-related, maybe she will get the message and keep your friendship borg-free.
If not, you have nothing to loose, she'll put you on her sh!t list anyway.....

My encounter today.....
by Free!! inlet me start with: i havent been to a meeting in almost 2 years, i am "inactive" and the only contact i have w the jw is the an open minded jw friend who i talk to....since i left, i have done what i want, travel, get my nose pierced again (had it pierced before i baptized but they gave me hell for it, even thought the bible doesnt say anything bad about nose piercings) and hang out w "wordly" friends who smoke, drink and swear.... i don't smoke but lately i have been giving this friend a ride and he is a-pack a day type of guy... he left his pack in my car yesterday..... so, i am working evenings this week on a special project, and this morning i decided to run some errands.
i was hungry so i stopped at macdonalds to grab some coffee... i placed my order thru the drive thru and pull over to the pay window, as i look for the money the drive-thru attendant says "wow, hello free!
", i look up and omfg one of the brothers from my congo... i acted like normal (sorry but i dont get nervous of agitated when i see a jw, i just dont give a dang) and smiled and made short conversation, while he is tellng me how much he misses seeing me at the hall, i see his eyes going between my piercing, my jet black goth hair and the pack of cigarettes on my passenger seat.... .

My neice claims she knows the solution to cancer and growing old ....
by troubled mind inlet us all rejoice .
help i think my eyes balls are stuck after they rolled so hard when i read her facebook post .. she commented on a mutual friends post .
the other person was stating how she didn't understand pythagorean theorem ,but would be sure to put it on her to do list along with curing cancer (she is a biology student ).......that is when my neice posted, " i know the solution to cancer and aging but not so sure about the pythagoren theorem.......".

I'm new here..... Studying with the Witnesses
by PenelopePaige inhi- i just wanted to say that i have been checking the website out for a few weeks and have read some horror stories and some sad ones.
but i have been studying with witnessess for about six months and can't help but feel that they're completely sincere and maybe even, the true religion.
i love the watchtower and awake and to me, none of that seems crazy.

I have another idea.....
Maybe we, on this board, are all bent out of shape awful apostates, trying to sway you away from the truth (this is a classic JW answer). Maybe we all have an axe to grind with the Watchtower and use this medium to "deceive goodhearted individuals and deny them the knowledge of the one true religion".
Maybe it's true....Check this out for yourself.
Join a Jehovah's Witness forum or a facebook group and ask honestly some of the questions on topics found here. Do not accept half baked or derailing answers. Insist on an honest response, no matter how many times people try to give you the runaround. After all, if the Jehovah's Witnesses have the Truth, they should not be afraid to answer a simple question.
See for yourself how fast you will be ignored, ridiculed, or worse, branded an "Apostate" by the same people that now pour their "unconditional" love upon you.
Come back here and tell us what happened.
